  • Demonstrated ability to undertake front of house reception duties that demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • The capacity to provide accurate information to parents, visitors, staff and students in a way that fosters a welcoming environment and effective customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member, displaying reliability and maintaining high level confidentiality.
  • Experience in the use of Google Drive, CASES21 and Compass Student Management programs or the demonstrated capacity to adapt to or learn new programs.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to use other software programs.


We are seeking a warm, professional and engaging Administration Assistant to join our busy general office..

Hours: 8:15pm - 4:30pm.


Responsibilities will include:

  • General reception and customer service for the school's front of house: assisting visitors, students, parents and staff in person, by phone and email in a professional manner.
  • Coordinate the delivery of administrative services within the school include, but not limited to:

    • Preparation of letters

    • enrolment enquiries and screening applications

    • ordering stationery and supplies for administration as required

    • updating student details

    • general data entry and administrative support including for teaching staff

    • Administer incoming and outgoing post and parcel deliveries as required

  • Understanding of school policies, procedures and expectations and ensuring these are adhered to.
  • Awareness of the activities and events of the college in order to provide information to staff, students, parents and members of the wider community.
  • Maintain record systems, including computerised student and school records using Google Drive, Compass and CASES
  • Coordinate, organise and help determine work priorities within the general office.
  • The ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Assisting the school nurse with first aid duties when required (First Aid Trained) *Advantageous.
  • Other duties as required by the Prinial class.

Location Profile

McKinnon Secondary College is a Year 7 to 12 co-educational school with a student population of around 2500. The College was founded in 1954 in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of McKinnon. From 2022, it will be split between two campuses: the main campus dedicated to Years 7, 10, 11 and 12 and the east campus focussed on Years 8 and 9.
